Dear parents, grandparents, and friends,
Many greetings from the Cub class!
Welcome back to a fun and busy week with us. Let us show you what we all have been up to during those last five days.
Our week started with a surprise visit. Could not be else than our dear friend, Snowman! All of us were so happy to see him. Together we sang the “I’m a little snowman” song, played snow games and we learnt about size concepts (big, medium, small). At the same time, we are trying to practise on our counting skills. Everyday we count the friends in the classroom, not only verbally but using whole body movements as well.
This whole week we focused a lot on winter animals and their characteristics, what they are doing during winter since its so cold outside? The game “Follow the animals” was a great activity for us. Footprints of three animals were on the ground, coming in on Tuesday. We followed them and found out to whom they belonged. It was deer, bear, and bunny. After we imitated their movements, we talked about their fur, and to our surprised saw real deer antlers. They were long and strong, impossible to break them!
Since our whole project has to do with Arts, we started talking and learning some of the colours as well. This week we practiced red and green. Our class has so many green and red objects, so we collected some of them and sorted them out on big red and green squares. Strengthening the whole body is important for the Cub class, therefore every day we train on basic body movements not only in our classroom but also outside and of course in our well-equipped gym that we adore! Thanks to the snow, which is unfortunately gone now, we had so much fun on the playground and having sledding rides.
Furthermore, this week we had a special occasion. Our friend David had his 2nd birthday! 😊 We all grow up super fast! More news to tell though. From Monday we had the pleasure to welcome a new teacher, Lucie, to our Cub group. We will use her warm hugs and smiles with open arms.
That is all from us now. Hope you will enjoy the pictures and have a lovely weekend!
