Dear parents, grandparents and friends, greetings from the Cubs!
It’s Friday! We are back to tell you more about how active we were this week and what Olympic Games we enjoyed the most.
Last week we learned all about the different summer Olympic sports. This week we had the chance to learn and try out some winter Olympic Games. We learned that there are games where we need sun and hot weather and games where we need cold weather with snow and ice.
Our first winter game which we discovered was ice hockey. We had so much fun acting it out and practicing eye/hand coordination to hit the puck with a hockey stick. We also wanted to try an ice experiment. We had hidden different pictures of sports in ice. All of the children needed to make the ice melt to find the sports inside. Now we know that the sun and warm weather helps a lot!
We also tried skiing this week with all the equipment and practiced our gross motor skills. The only thing which was missing was snow. It didn’t stop us though!! We found the beauty of figure skating as well. We tried twirling and jumping into the air! After we learned a new song “THIS IS THE WAY WE SKI DOWN THE HILL” and a new poem “SPORT”
We were really busy outside enjoying the weather. We also practiced our jumping and throwing!
That’s all for this week. See you next week where we will learn all about Healthy Body/Active Body since it is important part of doing any sports.
